Lunch at SoVi: Cantonese Pork Bao Buns

The Office of International Programs in collaboration with UNC Charlotte Dining Services invites you to explore Chinese cuisine for lunch at SoVi. Traditional Cantonese pork bao buns with hoisin and pickle cucumbers will be served at the Wok.

Cantonese pork bao buns, popularized by Zhuge Liang a legendary military strategist, originated in China’s Three Kingdoms period or the third century. Today, Cantonese pork bao buns are found in local Chinese bakeries, homes, and variations are found all over the world. Popular fillings include pork, pickled vegetables, beef, mushrooms, and chocolate to name a few.
